Detail

A large intrusive complex with intermediate, mafic to ultramafic bodies, oriented north northwest, may contain several zones of mineralisation, (Target B of CEI) faulted margins may also host mineralisation and also can’t rule out different mineralization character.

  • This area is immediately west of the Palmerville Fault and comprises a large interpreted buried intrusive complex 13km x 8km, that could contain mafic-ultramafic and intermediate intrusive suites.
  • This is suggested to be one of many intrusive complexes that may relate to mantle plumes formed during the Neoproterozoic at the rifting breakup of the Rodinian supercontinent along what is now the Palmerville Fault
  • Soils ionic leach in the east has defined broad anomalous Cu-Ni-Pd-Co-Au-Ag anomalism to 1.2km width on three widely spaced lines extending over 5.5km of strike and still open.
  • This may indicate one or more zones of Cu-Ni sulphide mineralisation with associated PGE, Au, Ag and Co ·
  • Other Au anomalism on the faulted eastern edge of the complex may be structurally controlled mineralisation
  • Depth of cover is suggested to be about 260m based on historical coal drilling by Utah in the general area (targeting the Dalrymple Sandstone cover sequence)
  • A CEI proposal is in place to secure funding to drill test a part of a strong Cu-Ni-PGE anomaly
  • Proof of concept and mineralisation intersection could lead to an extensive exploration program of ionic leach soils, geophysics and drilling to define resources
