Rhumbs tenements are in a part of Australia that is of high environmental value and is barely touched by people. Parts of the tenements have not been touched by man in centuries.
The waters of the Laura region are pristine; ranging from permanent rivers to creeks fast flowing only during the wet; from permanent waterholes to wetlands that flood during the rains. Those areas are populated by a rich and varied wildlife . Rhumb is committed to developing policies and strategies, both short term and long term, to protect those resources. It commits to minimising its footprint on the land and where it does impact; to properly rehabilitate that impact as near as possible to original state.
Mining and mineral processing are highly energy intensive Rhumb believes Climate change presents a fundamental challenge in coming decades. As we move towards operating mines, the development of strategies and their implementation to deliver energy and carbon savings will be a priority focus of our business.
